Volunteer Your Time

Advocate for change and for people living with HIV, educate the community and give presentations about HIV to local congregations.  We need to get the word out about what HIV is and dispell the many myths about it.

How Your Congregation Can Help

We need people and congregations to "adopt" a local person living with HIV.  Help this person get to doctor's appointments and make sure she/he has enough to eat.

Your house of worship can also host testing on special occasions or regularly.  Having testing available at easy-to-reach locations throughout the community encourages people to take the right step.  Your house of worship can also host a health fair or a workshop on HIV.

Canned Food Drives

The HIV AIDS Resource Center (HARC) provides free food to its clients.  Help make sure people living with HIV have enough healthy food to eat my hosting a canned food drive.  Contact HARC for more information.

Make a Donation

Make checks payable to WIHAN and send them to 1382 Russell Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.

Pastoral Care

Volunteer to visit with people in the hospital who have AIDS.  Some people with AIDS have been abandoned by their families and faith communities.  Show them that you care and that the Divine cares.  Contact WIHAN to volunteer as a pastoral care provider.  Lay people and clergy are invited to volunteer in this way.
